The primary aim of You Can Teach Writing is to provide quality content to visitors seeking advice and resources for teaching expository writing.

If you have a product or service those visitors could use, advertising at You-Can-Teach-Writing.com may be able to help you reach visitors interested in teaching writing: public and private school teachers, homeschoolers, college faculty, pre-service education majors, and educational administrators.

You-Can-Teach-Writing.com is rapidly becoming the source of online information about teaching expository writing in grades 7 and beyond. Less than two years since its founding, the site's main competitors on most page keywords are such long-established educational organizations as the Online Writing Lab at Purdue University and Dartmouth College.

In the first 10 days of January, 2010, a total of 6,246 individuals visited You-Can-Teach-Writing.com and viewed 21,356 pages. The average number of unique visitors for the month was 676 per day, with traffic as high as 1,350 unique visitors.

The site's monthly ezine, Writing Points, had a subscriber list of 820 as of Aug. 15, 2010.

Types of ads available

You can put an online advertising message before this site's visitors and/or Writing Points newsletter subscribers in various ways:

Main column text ads

Main column textbox ads are a rectangular box of text (sample at right) in slightly smaller font than the body copy, but with the same layout and background color as the rest of the page.

Main columns textbox ad copy is limited to 140 characters and spaces (Tweet length!). The text must fit on five lines.

Textbox ads can be placed on any page on the site except the home page. Site-wide ads are not available at this time.

Links in textbox ads will be designated as no follow links.

Main column in-text ad links not accepted

You Can Teach Writing sells no in-text advertising links for its main text column.

Image ads

Because you provide image ads ready to insert, image ads give you total control of your online advertising message.

You may chose from three image formats whose proportions are shown by the color blocks at in the right hand column:

• Button (125x125 pixels)
• Small sidebar (125 x 250 pixels)
• Skyscraper (120 X 600 pixels)

Links in image ads will be designiated as no follow links.

First come, first served

Please note that both text box ads and image ads are awarded in a first-come, first-served basis. I reserve the right to

• Limit the number of ads on a page.

• Decline to accepts online advertisements that are not a good fit for my site.

• Decline ads for home-page placement.

Rates and payment

Fill in the form to get online advertising rate information for the page(s) on which you wish to advertise. Payment is through PayPal. (PayPal accepts credit cards)

• For convenience, ad periods begin on the first of a month.

• Payment is in advance for minimum of 3 calendar months.

• Pay for 12 months and save 10%.

• If you wish to discontinue your ad at any time, your ad will be removed and the balance of your fee will be refunded.

• Ad rates may be reset at the end of the contract.

Sign up before December 15, 2010 for 12 months of advertising and get 1 month advertising free. The free month is added to the end of your contract period.
