After reading the PDF, you know that
No problem there; you can handle the course material, right? Only the tough need applyBut are you tough enough to handle the responsibilities of the Preparatory College Composition course? Can you
I can hear you wailing now: "I always get A's," and "Anything less than an A is unacceptable," and "I work really, really hard." Stuff it. I've heard all that all before. Don't expect an easy A (or B)The truth is you have to earn a C before you can get any higher grade. The C is the foundation. Once you get the C, the B's and A's are easy. It's the C that's hard. Completing the form is the first step in the application for a slot in my 2009-2010 Preparatory College Composition course. The second step in the application process is taking a timed writing on a topic I give you. Protection against potential problemsTo be sure you can receive a reply, please add my name and email to your contacts list. The name is written linda_aragoni and the address, of course, is @you-can-teach-writing.com. To discourage spam, my email is set so that your first contact with me must be through a contact form on this site or your email won't go through.
If enough students apply to make the course viable, I'll drop you a note around June 10 to arrange your timed writing session. If I don't get enough interest, I'll let you know that so you can make other arrangements. To protect youngsters online, only those who are 14 or older may use the application form. Anyone 13 or youngser must have a parent or guardian complete the form for them. Violators of this policy will be required to write 500 times, "I will not complete any web forms until I am 14." Nothing canned [Linda has] done a fabulous job at organizing the work we need to accomplish.... Her teaching style leaves you with the feeling that she cares about the student. There are no "canned" responses and suggestions to her feedback :-) ~Mary
